Borgo del Cabreo Relais di Charme is located in Greve in Chianti, within the Tenute del Cabreo in the locality of Zano. The boutique hotel has given new life to an old sharecropping settlement and blends gracefully into the surrounding landscape.
In Borgo del Cabreo Relais di Charme there are eleven rooms, including four suites, all elegantly and originality furnished with valuable furniture owned by the Folonari family. Four lounges for relaxation and conviviality, the breakfast room built inside the old barn, the small equipped gym and the suggestive heated outdoor swimming pool in the middle of the vineyards are at guests’ disposal.
The Relais is the heart of the estate and the ideal starting point for a long and relaxing walk among the rows which, with the arrival of autumn, show their wonderful colours.
Precisely from the vineyards around the relais that Cabreo il Borgo, one of the first Super Tuscans, born in 1982, is produced, which can be tasted together with the other wines of Tenute del Cabreo: La Pietra Chardonnay Toscana IGT and Black Pinot Nero Toscana IGT. Tasting tours conducted by expert staff were prepared for the guests of the relais. Thanks to this initiative, it is possible to appreciate not only the wines produced in the Tenute del Cabreo estate, but also a selection of all the wines produced by Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute, in particular the most representative wines of the other family estates.
The breakfast offers a huge choice, with sweet and savoury preparations, with fruit and vegetables from the estate’s garden and the aperitif on the panoramic terrace continues even in autumn, if the weather conditions allow it.
Here, you can relax watching the work in the fields, cuddled by the sun rays on the underlying heated pool, tasting a glass of Baby Super Tuscan wine. The BSTs are a variety of 4 fresh and fruity wines, particularly suitable to accompany toasted bread enhanced with the Tenuta di Nozzole Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP of the Chianti Classico area. A glass of Le Bruniche Toscana Chardonnay IGT is perfect for the aperitif, another wine produced in Greve in Chianti at the Tenuta di Nozzole estate.
The hilly landscape of the Chianti Classico area is scattered with many small medieval villages rich in history, starting with Montefioralle, which rises right in front of the Borgo del Cabreo estate and which has kept intact the ancient defensive walls and stone alleys. In Greve in Chianti you can visit the beautiful square surrounded by arcades where, on Saturdays, a large market takes place. A few kilometers further on, Radda in Chianti rises with its suggestive views that take you back to the past, as well as San Gimignano, the city of towers, a precious gift from the Middle Ages.
